Our Director:

Ellen Donovan, Executive Director

Since joining Asbury Day Care Center five years ago, Exeuctive Director Ellen Donovan has been instrumental in supporting our mission of providing innovational early-childhood learning experiences to children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Ellen led the drive for the day care center to earn accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children – the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals. In addition to accreditation, Ellen directs an experienced and well-educated teaching staff. Currently, three full time teachers have been working at the center for more than twenty years, and several more have been on the job for more than five years. During her tenure, Ellen has enhanced the reputation of Asbury Day Care Center as a leading day care provider. Working with the University of Rochester, Asbury Day Care Center piloted a pre-school science program for three and four year olds that has been a model for other centers in the area. Families consistently praise the strength that Ellen brings to the program and her knoweldge of and appreciation for each child's individuality. The children recognize that as well. And they express it the way they know best, by throwing their arms around her and giving her a big hug whenever they see her. So we can recognize Ellen for all she has accomplished, but we will never express it as well as the hugs of the children who love her.
